BADIM 14: Favourite Products for Bathtime!

Hello Sweet Peas!

Welcome to day 14 of Blog a Day in May! Today’s post is going to be about the products I have been loving to use in the bath.

I love baths. I like to have lots of ‘stuff’ in my bath water. Bath bombs, bubble bath, bath salts, oils. You name it I have probably had it in my bath at one point or another. There is nothing I like more than lying in a tub full of gorgeous smelling bubbles, watching Youtube videos on my phone (yes phone in the bath, I laugh in the face of danger) and relaxing!

I swap the products in my bath time routine quite regularly simply because I love to test new products. My friends and family know I love baths so much, every birthday and Christmas I am bombarded with bath products from so many different brands, I have a massive basket on the top of my bookshelf full of them! It’s my little treasure chest!

The first thing I consider when I am running my bath is what concoction of delicious goodies can I put in it! I am a massive fan of bath bombs from Lush Cosmetics (they are cruelty-free and completely biodegradable so you know they’re not going to hurt the planet!) I’ve recently acquired 2 of their bubble bars (thank you mummy) which I have cut into smaller chunks. These things last for ages and the amount of bubbles they make is serious! But with the number of baths, I take in a week, using a bath bomb every time would become very expensive very quickly! So I save them for a treat to have at the end of the week. On a more regular basis, I use whatever bubble bath happens to be in the bathroom at the time and add drops of essential oils. My favourites to use are lavender, tea tree and eucalyptus oils, these ones are from Tisserand Aromatherapy. I pop a few drops of one or two of these oils and my bath water smells amazing.

When in the bath, I like to shave my legs and all that jazz. I’ve been using my Friction Free Shaving razor for nearly year and I still completely believe it is worth the money! Friction Free Shaving is a subscription box service that sends you a razor and then every month they send you four replacement heads, all for only £5! For more information, check out my review of their products here.

I don’t usually wash my hair when I’m in the bath and I recently did a whole post on how I keep my hair healthy (shameless promo, check it out here. But I have recently started using a new conditioner which has changed the game! The L’Oreal Dream Lengths conditioner is loaded with vegetal keratin, vitamins and castor oil. These ingredients make it perfect for people, like me, who are trying desperately to grow their hair. My hair suddenly became so much softer after a couple of washes! (So much so that someone asked me if I was pregnant because I was glowing! Nope, it’s just my conditioner!) I personally don’t use the shampoo because it contains sulphate which my hair hates, but I will shout to the rooftops about this conditioner!

As I mentioned, I swap out products quite a lot and the main one to get swapped is the shower gel. There are so many nice ones out there and I really enjoy trying different ones out…and with 6 people living in my house they go down quickly! My current favourite is Shower Shake shower gel from Zoella Beauty. It smells so yummy, and I know I will forever think of sunny spring days when I smell this from now on since I started using it on the glorious bank holiday we had in England,(the clouds are back now).

What I will sometimes do while I am led in the bath is either apply a facemask or a pore strip. I have a whole post from earlier this month on my favourite facemasks! My currently favourite pore strips are the Deep Cleansing Pore Strips by Biore. These ones were the limited edition zebra print ones which just makes them even better in my mind.  When I was a kid I would refuse to use band-aids unless they had pretty pictures or patterns on them…I think some of that followed me into adulthood.  These are the best pore strips I have used, I actually feel like they are clearing my pores rather than putting me through pain for nothing! The only thing I will say about these strips is they don’t have enough slots in the strip to fit it perfectly around your nose, but this is easily rectified with a pair of clean scissors.

Finally, when I get out of the bath I like to brush my teeth and wash my face. I have been using the Cetaphil facewash for just over a year and OMG. My face has never been so clear. As someone with PCOS, my skin is never going to be perfect but I haven’t had cystic acne once since I started using this product so I am going to continue using it! It is the one and only product I have repurchased from a subscription box. I rave about it to anyone who will listen…or read. Seriously, you need to try!

So these are my favourite products to use in the bath! What are your favourite bathtime goodies? Let me know in the comments!
