Happy Saturday Sweet Peas!
I am very excited about this post! Firstly, because I have lots of great products the share with you! But also because I recently bit the metaphorical bullet and bought myself a proper camera. I had a lot of fun testing out different shots to capture these products.
Without further ado. Here are my favourite products for this winter!
Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil – That sounds a bit of a mouthful but this product is seriously lush! A few drops of this oil gives your face a boost of vitamins to keep your skin looking glowy. It contains vitamins C and A which help stimulate collagen and reduce the signs of ageing, all whilst keeping the skin hydrated (which is great when the Beast from the East is hitting England this week!). The smell is very pleasant but it is subtle enough that once the oil is on your face you can no longer smell it. They recommend you use three drops of this oil every morning, which at first I didn’t think was a lot but it really does go a long way. I like to drop the oil straight onto my forehead and cheekbones to avoid wasting some on my hands. At £50 a bottle, this oil is not the cheapest I have used, but I’ve found that it lasts me and while and it really does make a difference to my skin!
Sports FX Candy Floss Moisturising Lip Balm – As I mentioned, the UK has been having some harsh weather this week; snow, wind and freezing temperatures that have been sending my poor lips into chaos! I’ve always suffered from dry lips but they have not been this bad in a while! They’re sore, cracked, bleeding, I debated forking out for some expensive lips masks. But I received this little gem in a Glossy Box a few months ago and had yet to try it. Ladies and Gents, this stuff not only smell and tastes amazing, it is super hydrating. I have been applying it liberally over my lips before bed and as soon as I wake up. My lips are pretty much healed and I’ve only been using it a little over a week. at £5 per balm, this pocket-sized lip miracle is definitely going to be something I repurchase!
L’Oreal Miss Baby Roll Mascara – I have been dying to try this mascara since mid-2017, the brush is one of the most unique I have ever seen on a mascara. I would compare it to the Benefit Rollerlash Mascara in the way the bristle mimick a hair roller. It makes curling the brush around your lashes easy and quick. The pay off is pretty impressive, it lengths your lashes but also makes them look thicker and fuller. If you don’t like the full, chunk lash effect then this mascara might not be for you, but if you love big lashes you need to try this out! I’ve found that this mascara stays on my lashes and looks good all day but it still easy to remove with a wet wipe when you’re removing your makeup at the end of the day.
Barry M Meteor Storm Eyeshadow Palette- I really didn’t need this palette…but I really wanted it. My glitter obsession would not let me leave it on the shelf. These eyeshadows are definitely more for special occasions and parties but the colour pay off is incredible. The go on the lip looking pretty standard but when the light hits them they shimmer with an iridescent look. I have been really enjoying putting the lighter colours on a cut crease for a really dramatic look. If you’re a glitter lover like me, look out for this palette, it might be your new favourite too!
The Greatest Showman Sound Track – I wrote a review on this film a few weeks agoon this film a few weeks ago, I cannot tell you how many times I have seen it. but for every time I have seen the film I must have listened to the sound twenty more. I am in love with each and every song, I know all the lyrics and can’t help but sing along whenever they come on…even if it’s in the middle of a supermarket! (True story). I love listening to this soundtrack whilst walking to work in the morning, I find songs like ‘Come Alive’ and ‘The Greatest Show’ really motivate me for the day! And how can you not love ‘The Other Side”, Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron! I’m sure I will be listening to this tracks for years to come, I wouldn’t even be surprised if it turns up again in my end of year favourites! (BTW, I’m sorry for the dirty phone screen, I didn’t realise the smudges would show up on my new camera!).
So these are my favourites from the Winter of 2018! Although, as I’m sat here I am watching the heavy snow fall outside my window and I can’t quite believe this is March! Hopefully, the Spring will get here soon, I am so ready for the warmer weather.
