L’Oreal Hydra Genius Review

L’Oreal are killing the cosmetic game at the moment! I’ve purchased, tested and loved so many of their products in the last month, but this is one of my favourites. After trying their clay face mask range a few months ago, I knew I had to try out the moisturiser that goes along with it.

The Hydra Genius is an extremely lightweight moisturiser, made with aloe water. The formula absorbs pretty much instantly into the skin, without leaving any sticky sensation or weird smell. The first time I used it, I had to remind myself an hour later that I had intact applied it. Where a lot of o moisturisers can feel heavy on your skin, even some time after application, this product seems to disappear and yet your face doesn’t fell dry at all.

The Aloe water was a big thing that drew me to this product. I have really sensitive skin

and it has been going crazy since I moved away from the city. The change in water has brought out mountains of painful acne and nothing I was doing seemed to be helping it. The aloe in this product has done wonders. My acne is still visible but it is no longer red and swollen as it was a few weeks ago. A week after I started using this I could see the difference. It also helped with the patches of skin that were vert tender due to my PCOS and constantly having hair removal treatments. I applied this product down my neck, which soothed the tender skin and all told made my skin feel a lot more comfortable to live in.

The packaging is really pretty. The tall blue glass bottle looks really nice on my vanity and makes the product look very high end. Loreal have definitely gone with less is more with their packaging and boy does it work! I’ve never owned a prettier moisturiser.

I paid around £6 for this product at Boots, though I think it may have been on a sale due it being a new item. Normally I think it is around £8. This being said, this product is more than worth the money. The formula is so fantastic and the packaging has been really generous with the amount of product they give you. Especially considering only need one pump to do your entire face and neck, the product spreads so smoothly.

The only bad thing I would say about this product is that you have to work fast when you are applying it. It is absorbed so quickly that you can’t enjoy the application and give yourself a mini massage at the same time. It is a case of getting it on before it dries. But the benefits out way this small issue. So I will most certainly be purchasing this product again.

Have you tried this moisturiser? What did you think? Let me know in the comments or on social media, links are down below.

Ay x
